My name is Ethan Brassard. What I love most about this work is getting to help people better understand themselves and the challenges they’re facing so they can grow into the version of themselves they want to be. I’m especially fascinated by the idea of neuroplasticity — the fact that as human beings, we always have the ability to learn, grow, heal, and create change in our lives. I love helping clients tap into that ability and use it to move toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.

My approach to therapy is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Existentialism. For me, therapy is about creating a space where people feel comfortable being fully themselves, exploring deeper patterns, and making sense of their experiences without judgment. I believe growth happens through connection, curiosity, honesty, and self-understanding.

I received my BA in Sociology from University of Virginia and I’m currently working toward my Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. Before moving into counseling, I worked in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and through this, I developed a passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly those navigating ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, executive functioning difficulties, and social or identity-related stressors. These experiences strengthened my skills in behavioral observation, emotional support, communication, and meeting each person with patience, flexibility, and curiosity.

Outside of therapy, I love staying active, trying new things, and spending time with the people I care about. I enjoy playing soccer, making music, and learning about the world through geography and history. Lately, I’ve been getting into rock climbing and watching old movies.
